Meet Gabe

Hi! My name is Gabe Matthews and I am the founder of GEM MATT DISCOS. I started learning how to DJ in 2020 after gaining inspiration from a friend and have wanted to be a professional DJ with my own business ever since. Over the years I have developed my skills and knowledge on music, building my music library and upgrading my setup. I officially opened GEM MATT DISCOS for business in late 2023.

I have over 5 years experience working with and entertaining children through voluntary work at various youth clubs, one being the Church Lads and Church Girls Brigade in Stockwood. My first professional disco was a Christmas disco for them in 2022.

I have always loved music, dancing to it, singing it, performing it, learning instruments, attending numerous concerts and festivals, and spending hours in my bedroom with my headphones on listening to music and having a mini disco in my head until the early hours of the morning. DJing helps me to bring all of these together whether that be a performance/DJ set, or a birthday party etc. I enjoy teaching children the popular party dances such as cha cha slide and macarena, and joining in with the adults having a wild time. I want to make sure everyone I work for is having the most fun they possibly can.

I work a full-time job alongside DJing, therefore I am able to fit in gigs around my work schedule by limiting them to evenings and weekends. Although this can be tough tough, I absolutely love what I do and it makes me happy.
